Weekly capsule edit | Amazon Spring capsule basics

Weekly capsule edit | Amazon Spring capsule basics

My Spring capsule is well underway, and since published, you’ve seen (and hopefully sourced) inspo from it. I realize the majority of my capsule consists of basic investment pieces, and while there’s value in those investments, I know many of you are here to source more affordable options. I asked a few weeks back if finding alternative options at some of the more affordable retailers that we shop from would be helpful. All of you agreed, so here we are! This week’s capsule edit focuses on affordable Amazon basics for Spring!

My initial thought was to find alternatives for my entire Spring capsule, but due to other content already in the works, I knew I wouldn’t be able to piece it together in time. It’s now May, and for many of us temps are rising quickly and I am already opting for more cooler fits. Nonetheless, I thought to pull four items from my Spring capsule that I know will work now and into June. For those of us already experiencing Summer, this provides you affordable options to either wear on cooler days or establish them as staples in closet. And for those still in the thicket of Spring, you’ve time on your hands to style within budget.

Please note I’ve plans to fully source likewise alternatives to my up and coming Summer capsule. I’ll either include these budget friendly options when published, or I’ll designate a separate post. Either way, you’re covered from here on out.

All said, I thought to focus this weekly capsule edit on Amazon Spring capsule basics. I’ve taken four items from my Spring capsule and have found alternative options on Amazon for less! I show you how to style them for an entire week’s worth of outfits. This week features the utility jacket, a white detailed top, light wash jeans, and a solid maxi dress. All items are under $60.

Amazon basics
Utility Jacket

A good utility jacket is a layer you can wear throughout the Spring with a number of different tops, bottoms, and dresses. The pop of olive works as a neutral and is a great addition to your closet’s color palette. I found this lightweight option, equipped with the cutest gold hardware and an adjustable cinched waist for less than $40.

light wash straight jeans

I tend to gravitate towards more lighter washes in the Spring. (so much that I devoted a post, here) I have this wedgie icon fit in a couple washes already that I love, so adding this to cart was a breeze. They are 100% cotton with little stretch and I find them to fit true to size. You can find these both at Amazon and Target under $50.

Puff sleeve white top

While this is slightly different than the one in my capsule, the puff sleeve detail is an element I love for Spring. It’s that added touch of feminine that is versatile in both casual and dressy looks. This one is ribbed, holds a flattering square neckline and is less than $19.

Solid maxi dress

I featured this tiered maxi dress last Spring and seeing it now back in stock (in multiple colors) I knew it would be the perfect alternative. I love the neutral tone and believe it will carry into the warmer months extremely well! This Amazon basic is lightweight, flattering, and less than $60.
