Despite Summer being calendar official, the season and its weathering heat can be unpredictable. Some years Summer arrives in June, and others the bulk of the heat doesn’t land until August. This year NC has experienced Spring quite well. With another week of storms and humidity to look forward to, it seems as if we’ve just hit the transition phase between seasons. Considering those likewise in transition and those who are already ripping off the layers, I put together some casual early Summer outfits for the week.
I curated these early Summer looks with humid weather in mind, while recognizing that some may still be experiencing Spring-like weather or (like me) like to wear pants regardless of the outside temps. You’ll also see a good mix of long and short sleeves, shorts, pants, and optional layers. Feel free to substitute, and inner-change accordingly with any of those shown or better yet, with similar items in your own closet. Be sure to check back next week for new styled looks!
One of my very favorite looks, ever. The off-shoulder blouse leans more dressy, so if you’d wanted to switch it out for something more casual you can. The olive linen shorts are also a great alternative to denim. Complete the look with black-toe sandals, a gorgeous Clare V. straw bucket bag, a simple pendant, and sunglasses.
I told you these pants would be the pant for Summer. They’re lightweight and easy to wear any day of the week. I love styling them with an oversized poplin shirt. When it’s hot, I typically button one or two buttons and leave it at that. The end-all look reads casual chic in the best way. You can view a few other ways to style these bottoms for Summer, here.
