I’ve always had a thing for denim. There’s something about a new pair of jeans that get’s me excited and eager to style. I love it so much I’ve shared a time (or two) on my favorites. Well, maybe more than that – seems as if every week I am chatting my ‘newest’ favorite pair. 😆 That said, being an influencer has it’s perks! Our favorite retailers all carry denim, and I never turn down the option to style the newest arrivals with my favorite aesthetic! This past year, I’ve grown to love the fit and feel of American Eagle styled denim. I always love an AE voted try on, as it gives me an excuse to try out the latest! I also find myself reaching for AE denim over other brands on most days. For today’s post, I thought to feature six different pairs of AE denim – A look into the options available and a round up resource for those loving AE denim as much as I do!
As mentioned in a prior denim round up, seems that the majority of those I favorite are high waisted. There’s something about the fit, and overall comfort of a high waisted jean that I love. So naturally, the ones shared today are high waisted. AE does hold a vast selection of denim – on site alone you see denim categorized in 15 different fits and styles. Tho I’ve chosen 6 American Eagle denim pairs on my fit preference, I’ve made sure those shared today are offered in different rises, and washes. I’ve included alternate rise options in description.
MOM JEANS
I have a couple pairs in these, and here’s why – They are meant to be a relaxed, looser fit. They sit at the natural waist, are slim through the top of body and then relaxed through the leg. So they provide the secure fit around the waist we all long for and are still comfortable enough to move in. Sizing in these is really based on fit preference. I have two pairs – one in my true size and this newer pair pictured having sized down one. I enjoy the shape these give in the smaller size and the looser fit in my true size. Date night denim in one pair, and everyday errands in another! They fit my high waisted preference (even offered in a higher rise than ones shown!), they are comfortable, have character with the distressed knees, and are extremely flattering. You can roll up the tapered ankle to style differently or leave as is. Mom or not, these jeans are a must!
HIGH WAISTED JEGGING
I’ve always loved AE jeggings. They are comfortable, offered in a TON of washes and are very flattering! These I grabbed for the button fly and minimal distressing. The patched distressing brings character to the denim, without the skin show thru! These fit TTS, wearing a 2S. Also offered in a low rise, here.
HIGH WAISTED TOMGIRL JEAN
If you love the looser fit of a boyfriend styled denim, but not too loose, Tomgirl’s are your denim. This pair is meant to be relaxed but not loose. This style has been around for quite sometime, tho they’ve added a few washes in a high rise fit, as seen here. I love the fit and feel of these – the denim itself is super soft and comfortable. I have found they do run large, so size down at least 2 sizes in these for optimal fit. (wearing a 00) Styling these is a breeze – from sneakers to espadrilles – these are a year round favorite. CURVY HIGH WAISTED JEGGING
These are definitely a keeper in my book! AE just launched this new curvy fit. They are designed to eliminate any waistband gapping and to prevent the need to size up! With the exception of the Tomgirl, this fit is actually offered in every one of the styles shared today. I naturally picked up the high waist, tho consider yourself covered if you enjoy this fit but would rather a different style. This particular pair fits TTS, and are avail in all lengths and sizes 00 to 20! I also really love that there is zero distressing – making this pair be a true solid and versatile closet staple. Definitely a denim go-to! These fit TTS, wearing a 0S.
HIGH WAISTED CROPPED JEGGING
I’ve had this particular pair in closet since Spring! These are offered in a variety of different washes and distress levels, tho I enjoy this solid pair with the distressed raw hem being the only portion altered. These are very versatile, as you can wear them in the warmer months with sandals or espadrilles and transition them with mules or ankle booties right into Fall! These fit TTS, wearing 2R. SUPER HIGH WAISTED BLACK JEGGING
I couldn’t leave out the darkest wash! Tho each style mentioned in today’s post is offered in an onyx black wash, I chose these for the button fly and rise preference. Tho not viewable in pictures below, this style holds a 11 1/4″ rise, having it land right above my belly button! These are very high (I can only imagine the fit of the highest waist, here). The denim is soft and stretchy. Minimal distressing throughout the leg, and so flattering. These fit TTS, wearing a 2S.
