Style Guide of the Week | Transitional outfits

I think Fall is on its way, friends. Yes, it’s still hot here in NC, but there were a few days last week that whispered Fall. Temps were cooler than they have been, a slight breeze came through, and the hues of next season are becoming more and more noticeable on my evening walks. Soon I’ll be crunching leaves under my feet, and opting for a coat! This week I am sharing 7 transitional outfits to wear. With Fall on route, we can gradually bring next season’s style into rotation and make this a seamless transition.

This monochrome look has Fall written all over it. I love the cropped style pea coat and chic trousers. Switch out the slingback heels for sneakers and you have an elevated casual fit suitable any day of the week.

I love to incorporate forecasted trends when transitioning from one season to the next. Utility pants have definitely entered the chat for Fall and I am all for it. Pair them with a sleeveless knit cardigan and strap sandals for a dressed-up casual look.

Who says you cannot wear white after Labor Day? Rules Shmules. There aren’t any in my book. A white linen blazer is the perfect pull when in between seasons. Layer over a tee bodysuit and woven sling-backs for a lunch or coffee date with friends.

Elevate this basic jumpsuit with fun accessories to suit the next season. Here I paired it with a blazer, metallic boots, and statement bangles. I plan on sharing a few other ways to style this capsule staple in the next few weeks, so stay tuned!

Fall florals are one of my favorite prints. I saw this gorgeous Fall print mini dress and think it’s perfect for date night or any occasion you’d like to dress up for! Drape a complimentary jacket over your shoulders and complete your look with a black handbag.

How fun is this athletic pleated skort?! I love it paired with a casual graphic tee and printed sneakers. Run errands and do all the things in style this weekend.

Nothing brings in Fall better than a classic trench coat. Every year I am more drawn to pair this coat with casual looks over dressy. Plus, the combination of olive and brown tones always wins, don’t you think?

I truly love this time of year and as a result, I’ve several outfit ideas that lie in this category. Expect more this month, as I dive deep into transitional style. Check back next week for more Summer to Fall-inspired looks!
