multiple ways to style a maxi dress

The maxi dress – a very common casual Spring piece. It’s popular tho, in good reason! It’s comfortable, easy and can be styled endless ways. I recently grabbed this $24 Spring staple on Amazon – it’s versatile, affordable and will soon take a prominent spot in my Spring capsule.

For today’s post I am sharing multiple ways to style this affordable dress! Let’s get to it!

maxi dress | espadrilles

Since this piece is one you can wear alone, why not start out the style just as so?  Tie a knot in front, on the side, or leave as is. Play around with the piece by itself to showcase your creativity and personal style. As for shoes – the options are endless.  Here I grabbed some fun black espadrille sandals.

sunhat | belt | rattan bag | flatform espadrilles

Accessorize it! Add a belt, hat, and fun crossbody bag to your look. Here I added a braided belt for texture and contrast, a fun sun hat, and my newest Spring rattan bag.

denim jacket (similar) | espadrille wedges

Casually dress it up! Put on some espadrille wedges and complete your look with Spring’s best outerwear option – a denim jacket!

button up | mules

A fourth option is to style a button up shirt over the top. You could tie it in the front, as I did here or wear it open as a cardigan. I paired this solid military style button up with my snake skin mules. Depending on style of button up, you could pair it with cute sneakers, a leopard loafer, or woven mule. Since your maxi dress is a solid color, it opens up the ability to mix different prints and textures into your look.

graphic tee (similar) | perforated slides

Looking for a more casual style? Top over the dress with a graphic tee! Knot it in the front, side, or back for waist definition and you’re set! I completed the look with perforated slides, tho a casual sneaker would look cute, too!

vest | belt (similar) | espadrille wedges

A trending look would be to vest it! Layer with a twill utility vest and you’ve got a bit of texture and fun! Here I belted the dress for definition and completed the ensemble with espadrille wedges.

blazer | handbag | booties

Lastly, edge it up a bit! Put on some boots, a fashionable handbag, and a blazer! Even a moto or leather jacket would be cool.  I recently purchased this blush colored blazer and thought to give my look a bit of feminine edge. This look would be so cute for a night out with the girls, or a fun concert.

I know I’ll get so much use out of this little number, and hopefully you will too! I’ll add it’s available in 7 different shades and did I mention it’s only $24 with free prime shipping?!
